This movie will seriously make you cry. Every thing from the story to the action to the actors is amazing in this movie. It’s sad that it’s based of a true story but it sure did make for a good movie. The movie is a screen adaptation of the book Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Red wings and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 which is written by Marcus Luttrell, who also makes an appearance in the film as well. In the movie Luttrell is played by Mark Wahlberg, but we’ll talk about him later.
This is one of the best war films that I’ve ever seen. So much better than films like Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan in my opinion. The book and movie have some minor differences but I’m just here to talk about the movie. Luttrell and three other Navy SEALs go on a mission to capture a Taliban leader but the mission ends up going awry. They find themselves trying to fight a group of Taliban fighters, but in the end three of the SEALs lose the battle leaving Luttrell to be the only survivor.
This has got to be one of Mark Wahlberg’s best performances and movies he’s ever been in, but he is not the MVP from the film in my opinion. The MVP of the film has got to be Lietenant Michael P. “Murph” Murphy, which is played by Riggins, but most people call him Taylor Kitsch. Other than playing Tim Riggins in Friday Night Lights this is the best role that Taylor Kitsch has ever played. I could watch this movie over and over again just to see him.
